The future generation of the Volkswagen Passat has recently leaked out as the model in question is believed to make its way onto the market by the end of the year.
The 2015 Volkswagen Passat has been in development for quite some time now and after being spied a few times wearing some heavy camouflage on its body, the model in question is finally here, in some leaked images, for the moment. The images posted below represent the new Passat generation for the Chinese market, which is known as the Magotan in the Asian country but the European version is expected to be very similar to this one, except for a change in the wheelbase, because the Chinese one is slightly longer.
The new Volkswagen Passat generation, the B8, will be riding on the MQB platform and the front end is coming with the company’s new design language, which has already been seen on the updated Touareg, unveiled in Beijing. The model has sleeker headlights and a new grille, a low roofline, a completely updated interior with leather and wood trim, a new steering wheel and others. The engine lineup will consist out of four-cylinder TDI and TSI units, most of them borrowed from the Golf. A plug-in hybrid version is also expected and it will use the powertrain from the Audi A3. The 2015 VW Passat will most likely be unveiled during the 2014 Paris Motor Show, in October.
