The next generation of the Volkswagen Phaeton is expected to make it back to the United States, and the model might be unveiled in Detroit, in order to celebrate the event.
The German based automaker Volkswagen is currently working on the development of the new Phaeton generation and the model is rumored to make it back to the United States. The announcement hasn’t been made officially just yet but the word is that the 2015 VW Phaeton will be officially presented to the public next year, during the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
The luxury car’s official debut has been hinted by Martin Winterkorn, the Volkswagen CEO, while recently speaking to Bloomberg. The company’s boss declined to go into specifics but the source mentioned above is saying that the new Volkswagen Phaeton generation will be based on the Audi A8 and it should cost at just over 60,000 USD, which is significantly cheaper than the A8, priced at 75,100 USD. Additional details on the new generation of the Volkswagen Phaeton are limited for the moment and will probably be announced sometimes next year, close to its debut.
