According to AutoExpress, next generation Veyron will be more more carbon-composite-intensive than the current Veyron, will accelerate to 60 in under 2.5 seconds and most probably will cost “just” $1.6 million.
Most probably 2014 generation Bugatti Veyron will use the same engine; the 8.0-liter W16 engine which is capable on the actual configuration ( SuperSport ) to deliver 1200 Hp and 1,100 pound-feet of torque, and a revised seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
However, there were rumors about an end of Bugatti, because Vw is loosing money on every Veyron. Indeed, to build a Veyron costs. Actually, the car cost more than twice the price of manufacturing!
In an interview with the British publication, Dr. Franz-Josef Paefgen, former head of Bentley and Bugatti, explained why VW nevertheless is ready to dive back into development of a successor:
“It costs far more money to compete in a season of F1 than to run Bugatti.”
According to Inside Line, we may get first preview of next generation Veyron in 2013 possibly at either the Geneva or Frankfurt show.
