Ford is planning to share the same engine between the next Mustang generation and the upcoming Focus RS hot hatch.
Good news for those of you who are fans of the Ford Focus hot hatch because they will be able to proudly say in a few years that the same engine from the upcoming Focus RS will be used by the next generation of the Mustang. The new generation of the muscle car should get 350 HP from the same engine used on the new Focus RS and this will be an improvement of the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Rumor has it that the upcoming Ford Focus RS will get a 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine under its hood which should produce an impressive 350 HP No performance details are being known for the moment but one thing is for sure, the hot hatch will come with front wheel drive and this power on a front engine with front-wheel drive can only mean one thing: VW can relax because the new Golf R will definitely become a best-seller.
