The Japanese based automaker Lexus has recently announced that the 2013 ES has earned a five-star safety rating during the latest NHTSA crash tests.
According to Toyota’s luxury brand, the 2013 Lexus ES 350 and the ES 300h have managed to earn the highest in each evaluation conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and this includes the front crash, the overall side impacts and the overall driver safety. The 2013 Lexus ES sedan doesn’t stand so well in the rollover protection because the model has achieved a four-star rating, but, even so, the overall rating earned by the 2013 Lexus ES is showing five stars.
Toyota’s luxury brand or the NHTSA don’t say anything on the faulty emergency trunk release mentioned in the Consumer Reports claim, which can easily broken in a panic situation. As a quick reminder, the 2013 Lexus ES 350 is available in the United States starting from 36,100 USD, without the 895 USD destination fee and it’s coming with a 3.5 liter V6 engine under its hood, producing a total output of 268 HP and 248 lb-ft of torque. The 2013 ES 300h can be bought from 38,850 USD, without the destination charge.
