The second largest Japanese automaker has recently taken the wraps off its latest edition of the 2016 Maxima – called the SR Midnight Edition.
The model is already heading towards US dealerships, with the limited series being based off the regular Maxima SR but now sporting a blacked out spoiler and black rear diffuser. The special edition has also been adorned with a Charcoal leather interior and nice-looking 19-inch alloy wheels featuring a black finish. The 2016 Maxima SR Midnight Edition will also be offered to upcoming customers alongside an exclusive, but restrained color palette: Brilliant Silver, Coulis Red, Deep Blue Pearl, Pearl White, and Super Black. With the limited series using the SR version as its basis, the model also includes such amenities as the heated / ventilated front seats, a leather / Alcantara wrapped steering wheel, alloy pedals. And it also comes nicely equipped with LED headlights, a sport-tuned suspension, and special dampers.
Motivation is provided by the unmodified 3.5-liter V6 engine that comes to the party wearing 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque, mated to an Xtronic transmission for an economy rating of 22 mpg city / 30 mpg highway. The Midnight Edition is an add-on package and will set buyers back $1,195 – while Nissan says it integrates additional equipment actually worth $2,195. The total price for the 2016 Maxima SR Midnight Edition stands at $38,965.
