The Japanese automaker is certainly making a statement at the upcoming 2017 New York Auto Show with a model dubbed “Copzilla” – and for good reason, because few people in the world would be able to outrun this crazy Police Car concept.
Police Pursuit #23, nicknamed ‘Copzilla,’ is a Nissan GT-R that will catch any speed breaker – though it only lives in the fictional Skyline Metro Police Department (noticed the Easter Egg – err, word play?). It comes with a black exterior with gold stripes, police light fixtures on the roof and in the grille, a scrolling LED light bar, and a “Skyline Metro” badge on the hood and door panels. The powertrain does come out untouched from this fictional police affair – 3.8-liter biturbo V6 packing a meaty 565 horsepower (421 kilowatts) and 469 pound-feet (635 Newton-meters) of torque. There are additional goodies though – adjustable coilovers as well as a set of 22-inch alloy wheels complete with spikes to deliver the look of real steel – and also compliment the new personality.
In other news, next to this show-stealing GT-R Police Pursuit, Nissan will also premiere the new GT-R Track Edition in New York, arriving with interesting updates such as forged 20-inch aluminum wheels, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, and a Nismo-tuned suspension. The company has also prepared a new limited series for the 370Z dubbed Heritage Edition, which recalls the famous 240 with a roster of exterior upgrades.
