The Japanese based automaker Nissan has announced that the production version of the e-NV200 will go on sale in 2013 and it will be made in Barcelona.
After it was officially presented to the public in January this year, during the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, and confirmed for production earlier this month, the Nissan e-NV200 is once again being placed into the spotlights, this time with the company announcing its launch. According to the car manufacturer, the production version of the e-NV200 electric van will hit the market in 2013 and the model will share powertrain components with the Nissan Leaf, which means that it should have a similar range as the hatchback.
“The new model will offer all the spaciousness, versatility and practicality of a traditionally powered compact van, but with zero CO2 emission at the point of use and provides outstanding driving experience that is unique to EV’s. Crucially, it will also offer class-leading running and maintenance costs which makes it an exceptionally attractive proposition to both businesses and families”, said the company’s executive VP, Andy Palmer.
The final production version of the Nissan e-NV200 will come with a roomy and functional interior and class-leading running costs. Even if was officially confirmed for production and we also know when the model will finally hit the market, details on the electric van remain unknown for the moment, but one thing is for sure, the Leaf will share some of its components with the e-NV200.
