The autumn resides under the Leaf sign – with the Japanese automaker having a novelty for each and every month, following the September reveal of the second generation and the upcoming October introduction of the Leaf Nismo prototype at the Tokyo Motor Show.
We’re actually getting more than one communication per month from Nissan about the Leaf – we had this month the Oslo, Norway introduction of the Euro-spec version of the all-electric hatchback, along with other novelty at the Electric Futures 3.0 event. Now Nissan has released the first official images with its upcoming Tokyo Motor Show concept, the Leaf Nismo, adopting the sporty division’s signature red accents. The aero body kit includes a new front bumper with spoiler lip and a larger mesh featuring new, horizontal LED lights. On the side we noticed the mandatory Nismo-branded alloy wheels with high-performance tires and as far as we can tell the suspension has been tweaked for a lower stance and better handling as well.
Moving towards the rear, it seems the changes are slightly limited – the rear bumper features a reworked, more dynamic diffuser with central fog light F1-style, as well as the “Nismo” badge in case anyone missed the difference. Inside changes are sowing this concept is actually production-ready, with red accents on the dashboard as well for the stitching on the seat upholstery. The center console has another “Nismo” logo to remind you this model will provide “instant acceleration at all speeds” thanks to Nissan’s “custom-tuned computer.”
