Nissan Leaf can get extended range from Enginer image

The Michigan based company Enginer is offering 4-, 8- or 12- kWh battery packs for the Nisan Leaf, which can be installed in order to improve the EV’s total range.

If you own a Nissan Leaf and you are unsatisfied with the total range offered by the “green” vehicle there is now a choice for you but, just like every upgrade, this won’t come cheap. A Michigan-based company named Enginer is now offering 4-, 8- or 12- kWh battery packs which can be installed improve the total range of the electric vehicle from 116 km to 176 km. The cost for the 12 kWh battery pack will set you back for 7,500 USD.

As a quick reminder, the 2012 Nissan Leaf, which is already available worldwide, is coming with a standard battery heater, heated steering wheel, heated side mirrors, heated front and rear seats, heated HVAC duct on all models and a Quick Charge Port offered as standard, which can charge the vehicle up to 80 percent in 30 minutes using the DC fast charger. The 2012 Leaf is being offered in an eight-year warranty or 100,000 miles for the advanced lithium-ion battery pack.
