Under the Pure Drive name, Nissan will introduce a new engine for its Qashqai crossover in the form of a 1.6 liter dCi, which will burn only 4.9 liters every 100 kilometers assisted by the six-speed manual transmission.
According to the car manufacturer, the new 1.6 liter diesel is delivering 130 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, burning as we said earlier just 4.9 liters / 100 km and emitting 129 g of CO2 every km. This Qashqai version has the same torque as the one provided by the 2.0 dCi unit and the crossover can hit a top speed of 193 km/h.
“Nissan crossover models dominate the market due to innovative design and technology efficiency. With this new diesel engine, we offer our customers the benefit of reduced emissions quantity and at a high efficiency of the vehicle while travelling. The engine is remarkable, the best in its class in many ways. It offers the same dynamic on the road as the 2-liter dCi engine, but fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are at the same level or lower than those corresponding to our existing 1.5 liter dCi engine”, said the Nissan Europe vice president Paul Willcox.
All 1.6 liter versions of the Nissan Qashqai and Qashqai +2 will benefit from a six-speed CVT reconfigured transmission and the Pure Drive name is offered to every car in the line-up which is emitting 130 g of CO2 per kilometer or less.
