The second largest Japanese automaker has decided to set up a bespoke Brazilian website catering specifically for the soon to be introduced production series Kicks SUV.
This is the second teaser in the span of just a few days for the upcoming model, which has been announced as a production series following the reveal in concept form back at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show. Since we’re talking about a model that looks to initially cater for the largest South American market and then spread across the continent and possibly towards other international markets, the automaker decided to start the teaser campaign using a Brazilian targeted website. Manufacturing will be handled in the country sometimes later this year at the Resende Industrial Complex where the automaker also produces the Versa and March / Micra. While the country is still in deep economic trouble, Nissan Brazil has decided to infuse $192 million and bring 600 new employees to the plant to secure the Kicks production.
This new teaser shows us a little more of the vehicle, as we get the silhouette’s side profile – looking arguably very close to what the prototype brought. We have no confirmed technical details but the rumor mill pits the Kicks crossover on the V-Platform, with motivation provided via a 1.8-liter flex-fuel engine mated to either a manual or an optional continuously variable transmission. Nissan will release the model in production guise soon enough as the first deliveries have been scheduled for the second part of the year.
