The first images revealing the brand new Nissan Terrano have recently hit the web, ahead of its public debut scheduled for August 20, in India.
The newest Nissan model is known the Terrano and it has nothing in common with the vehicle previously wearing this name, as it is based on the Dacia / Renault Duster. This is basically a rebadged Dacia Duster, with some minor tweaks. The low-cost SUV will be sold in India and in some other emerging markets, as Nissan didn’t announce plans to launch it in Europe, where the original Duster is going to “suffer” a facelift next month, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
As you can see from the spy images posted below, the Nissan Terrano is looking slightly more premium than the Romanian SUV and its incorporating the company’s front grille, new headlights, larger taillights, darkened pillars, different wheels and some other tweaks. As for the engine lineup, the new Nissan Terrano will become available with the same units powering the Duster, the 1.6 petrol and the 1.5 dCi diesel. The model in question will be officially unveiled tomorrow, the 20th of August, and it will be produced in Oragadam, India, where the company is also assembling the Evalia, the Micra and the Sunny Sedan.
