Nissan to sell 3 DeltaWing units image

DeltaWing Racing Cars has recently announced its plans to sell three coupe units of the DeltaWing, made by Elan Motorsports Technologies.

The Nissan DeltaWing Coupe will become available for order in three units as the company has recently announced. No pricing details on the vehicles in question have been announced just yet and the company says that those interested in purchasing such a model should contact them at 706-658-2853.

“The coupe should be a no-brainer for safety. It’s just to remove the possibility of the driver’s head being struck by anything. If the car is upside down, there’s more of a controlled space. We’ve elected to put the driver in the middle as another way of differentiating this coupe from other ones. It’s best for us to put the driver in the middle to protect them. It’s going to be good for visibility as well”, said Simon Marshall, the Elan Motorsports Technologies engineer.

The Nissan DeltaWing has been unveiled back in 2012 and it ran that year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans Race. Power was provided by a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine, with direct injection, producing 300 HP. The race car weighs just 590 kg with a full tank.
