The Japanese based automaker Nissan is currently testing a new C-segment hatchback which will go on sale in a couple of year.
Rumors regarding a new Nissan hatchback which will be a direct rival for models like the Volkswagen Golf or the Ford Focus have been around since earlier this year but it seems that the model in question has went from a rumor to a vehicle which is getting ready to hit the market. The new Nissan hatchback has been recently caught testing and, even if using a Tiida body as a disguise, underneath the running gear is all-new. The vehicle in question will probably be inspired by the Invitation Concept, unveiled earlier this year in Geneva.
The new C-segment hatchback won’t share the same name with the Invitation Concept and it won’t even get the Almera Name. Rumors are saying that the model will get a 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol engine under its hood, which will generate 113 BHP and 190 Nm of torque, which will return more than 50 mpg UK. The 1.6 liter diesel unit with 128 BHP will also make its way into the lineup. The new Nissan hatchback will be produced in Sunderland, UK, and it will be launched in 2014. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment.
