Today, November 2nd, President Obama slammed Republican Mitt Romney for misleading voters with his television and radio ads.
Romney’s ads imply that Chrysler plans to move all Jeep production in China and that GM cut 15,000 American jobs under Obama’s watch. Obama’s reply came shortly, saying that Mitt Romney is ‘scaring hard working Americans to scare up votes.’ Although Chrysler said that no jobs are being moved and production will not be shifted to China, Romney’s accusations made in Ohio left their mark on the voters.
“The reason they are making these calls is because Governor Romney ran an ad that says so. Except it’s not true. Everbody knows it’s not true. The car company themselves told Gov, Romney to knock it off,” said President Obama.
The ad is quite violent, filled with images of cars being crushed and the narrator is heard saying ‘Obama sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China. Mitt Romney will fight for every American job.’ The only thing the ad is not mentioning is the truth, the fact that Chrysler is expanding its Jeep operations in North America, as it considers breaking into the Chinese market.
