Land Rover has recently announced that it owns the fastest SUV on the Nurburgring, which is the new 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR.
The fastest ever SUV to lap the Nurburgring is the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR. This has been recently announced by the British based automaker and it seems that the model in question has manage to do a lap on the famous German track in just 8 minutes and 14 seconds. The record breaking attempt was established with one of the company’s test drivers in the production version of the Range Rover Sport SVT.
As a small reminder, the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR is Land Rover’s most powerful production model and it is developed by the Special Operations division. The SUV is coming with a more aggressive body, with larger air intakes, a mesh grille, a rear diffuser, high performance braking system, a quad exhaust setup and larger alloy wheels. Power is being provided by a 5.0 liter supercharged V8 engine, which is producing a total output of 550 HP (405 kW). The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) is expected to be made in less than 5 seconds, but performance figures haven’t been announced yet.
