Volkswagen has recently announced its plans to introduce the new generation of the Passat this fall.
Following some spy shots and some leaked details and reports with the next generation of the Volkswagen Passat, the German based automaker is now announcing that the model in question will be officially introduced this fall. According to the car manufacturer, the 2015 Volkswagen Passat, in its new generation, will be assembled at the Zwickau factory and it will get a completely new design on its body and in the cabin, not to mention new engines and even a new DSG transmission.
“The decision to manufacture the Passat Variant from autumn 2014 in Zwickau, provides the location for the coming years solid on”, said Siegfried Fiebig, the VW Sachsen spokesman.
The 2015 Volkswagen Passat will be getting a new biturbo 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine under its hood, which will be producing a total output of 236 HP (176 kW). The unit will be mated to a brand new transmission, with 10 speeds DSG, which can handle even more than 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque. More details on the new VW Passat generation will be announced this fall, close to the model’s official debut.
