Official: BMW M135i is coming to the U.S. image

The hottest version of the new 1-Series hatchback range will join the German brand’s recently launched M Performance Automobiles model line.

According to the latest reports, the M135i has been given the green light and is on its way.
The M135i will not reach the States look as you may have seen at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Though there has not been an official confirmation, it’s very likely that the next-gen 1-Series M will be modeled after the coupe, like the 2011 1M.

Powertrain details are lacking, but it’s logical to expect the M135i to come with at least the same level of horsepower as the end-of-production 1-Series M.

The M135i in hatchback Concept was unveiled for the first time in March at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. As part of the Bavarian automaker’s growing M Performance lineup, the M135i combines a more aggressive exterior with a twin-turbocharged inline-6 cylinder engine, for what should be scintillating performance.
