Rolls-Royce has officially announced its plans to introduce the so-called Dawn in early 2016.
The British based luxury car manufacturer Rolls-Royce has some big plans for its future models and one of these plans is to introduce a so-called Dawn. The vehicle in question has been announced recently by the automaker and it is said to go on sale early next year.
“Our new Rolls-Royce Dawn promises a striking, unhealthy seductive encounter like no other Rolls-Royce to date. Dawn is a beautiful new open-top motor car with a name that suggests the fresh opportunities that every new day holds – an awakening, an opening up of one’s senses and a burst of sunshine. It will be the most social of super-luxury motor cars for those beautiful people who wish to bathe in the sunlight of the world’s social hotspots”, said the company’s chief executive officer, Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes.
The brand new Rolls-Royce Dawn will be actually the renamed Wraith Drophead Coupe, and it has been described as being a soft-top version of the Wraith. This will be coming with the 6.6 liter twin turbo V12 engine under its hood, which is capable of producing a total output of 624 HP (465 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. This unit is allowing the Wraith to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds to the Dawn will be slightly slower. Additional details on the upcoming Rolls-Royce Dawn are limited at this time and will be announced in 2016. The Dawn name has been used before on the Silver Dawn, which has been made in just 760 units between 1949 and 1955.
