A one-off version of the BMW i8 Concours d’Elegance Edition has managed to find a new owner for itself who had to pay an astounding price during the auction.
Did you ever wonder how much can a one-off special edition version of the BMW i8 Concours d’Elegance Edition can sell for? Well, honestly, I didn’t, but I just had to share with you how much its new owner had to pay: 825,000 USD. The model in question has been sold with some little help from famous petrol head Jay Leno and it means basically six times the recommended retail price, which now stands at 135,700 USD.
“On Saturday evening, August 16, in celebration of the U.S. arrival of the revolutionary BMW i8, Jay Leno and Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America, presented a one-of-a-kind 2014 BMW i8 Concours d’Elegance Edition, which was then auctioned off for $825,00, including buyer’s premier, during Gooding & Company’s annual Pebble Beach Auctions. This is a world auction record price for a BMW i8”, says the carmaker in its official press release.
The special one-off BMW i8 Concours d’Elegance Edition has been finished with the BMW Individual Frozen Grey Metallic on its exterior and it was finished by the Dalbergia Brown leather upholstery. The model has also came with the laser etched Concours d’Elegance Edition badging and with the BMW i8 embossed headrests. All proceeds from the auction have went to the Pebble Beach Company Foundation.
