The German based automaker Opel is planning to produce a convertible version of the new Adam and the model has been recently rendered.
The Opel Adam Cabrio has been rumored ever since the small car has been officially presented to the public during the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September and it seems that the model is now is closer to its future customers than ever. Opel didn’t confirm the Adam Cabrio but it didn’t deny it either and we can truly say that the smallest drop-top in the company’s lineup will make its way onto the market soon. The image posted above has been provided by Automobile Magazine and it’s offering a first glimpse into the Adam Cabrio.
Additional details on the Opel Adam Cabrio are unknown for the moment but the model will most likely get the same engine lineup as the regular version, including the 1.2 liter with 70 HP, the 1.4 liter with 87 HP and the 1.4 liter with 100 HP, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. All units will get the ecoFLEX technology package and the start/stop system which is helping cut down CO2 emissions and improve fuel consumption. The Adam Cabrio won’t be a real convertible and it’s expected to be something similar to the new Citroen DS3 Cabrio or the Fiat 500C.
