Opel Adam Wins ‘Red Dot Design Award’ For Unconventional Design image

Opel’s Adam was awarded the ‘red dot design award’ due to its unconventional design and groundbreaking technology.

ADAM managed to surpass its tough rivals and win the ‘product design 2013’ award offered in the “Automotive and Transport” category. The stylish Adam already has 30,000 orders and experts believe that customers are attracted by the model’s “aesthetic shapes and sustainable trends”.

“We seamlessly continue our tradition of ‘red dot design award’ victories of the last years with our new lifestyle car and make a strong statement in terms of innovative power,” says Niels Loeb, Opel Chief Designer Exterior. “With our ADAM, we once again show that we can offer superb design in every passenger car segment and for every taste.”

The new Adam is Opel’s fourth model to receive the ‘red dot design award’ since 2009, after the mid-size Insignia, the Astra Sports Tourer and the compact Astra GTC coupe. This is the absolute proof that Adam’s German precision and unique design, introduced with the Insignia, is still well received by customers as well as experts.

The Opel Adam offers 61,000 variants for the exterior design and almost 82,000 for the interior one, the only model to offer such a variety in its class. The vehicle also comes with 12 body color options, three additional combinable roof colors, 31 wheel designs and different headlines with LED illumination. The Adam also won the “Plus X Award” for its operating comfort, high quality, design and innovations.
