A four-door body style on the new generation of the Opel Astra is not out of this world as chances are that such a version of the compact car will be introduced soon.
Ever since the German based automaker Opel has officially pulled the wraps off the new generation of the Astra a few weeks back, rendering artists have went crazy in trying to imagine how several variants of the car might be looking like. The two images posted below have been signed by Theophilus Chin and they are probably the most revealing ones of the upcoming vehicle. Our source is stating that such a model may not happen but we are not so sure, as there is still enough room in the segment for it.
The 2016 Opel Astra K is coming with a completely new design which has nothing in common with its predecessor. We can notice the more sloped roof line, the new arrangement for the C pillar, the sharp lines and so on. The cabin is getting goodies such as the 8-inch touch screen display, the 18-way adjustable seat for the driver which has heating, ventilation and even massage functions, the OnStar and a lot of safety gizmos. As far as the engine lineup goes, the 1.0l three-cylinder petrol burner will be offered in the entry-level variant, with its 105 HP (77 kW), being followed by the 145 HP (107 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque 1.5L Ecotec. The base diesel engine is the 1.6 liter CDTI with 95 HP (70 kW).
