Opel Junior to be named the Adam, coming in 2013 image

The Opel Junior will be named the Opel Adam once the model will be launched and it’s expected that it will hit the market in early 2013.

The latest creation to come from the German based automaker Opel, the Adam, will ride on a shortened platform of the future generation Corsa model and the vehicle will 3.7 meters long, which means that it will only be 15 inches longer than the Volkswagen Up!, and four adult occupants will be able to travel quite comfortable. According to the guys at autobild.de, the Opel Adam will incorporate lifestyle features, like the iPod, making it appealing for younger buyers.

The future Opel Adam is expected to come with a whole new engine lineup, made out of both three- and four-cylinder units, ranging from 1.0 to 1.4 liters, which will meet the Euro 6 emission standards and thanks to direct injection, these will be 10 percent more fuel efficient. Later on, the German based automaker will also introduce a new 1.6 liter engine, in both petrol and diesel, but there is no word on its performance just yet. The Opel Adam will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September.
