Opel Mokka has received 80,000 orders so far in Europe

Opel has received more than 80,000 orders for its new Mokka SUV from all over Europe, the carmaker has announced.

After just a few months since launch, the Mokka has become popular especially in countries like Germany, Russia, UK, Italy and France. According to Opel, more than two-thirds of all Mokkas in Europe will be sold in these markets. The best-selling Mokka at the moment is the top Cosmo variant, powered by a 140HP 1.4-liter Turbo ecoFLEX engine mated to all-wheel drive.

“Our attractive newcomer is on the way to becoming one of the bestsellers in the sub-compact SUV class, the fastest-growing vehicle segment in Europe. This steep order curve is due to the fact that, with its outstanding practical qualities, the Mokka delivers what its muscular design promisesThe Mokka is clearly fulfilling its high customer conquest potential,” said Duncan Aldred, Acting Vice President Sales, Marketing & Aftersales at Opel/Vauxhall.

Research shows that typical Mokka drivers are middle-aged and lead very active lifestyles. They are also technology-oriented, and Mokka’s Opel-exclusive driver assistance systems as well as safety and comfort features are particularly important to them.

The 4.28 meter-long Mokka can be specified with front-wheel drive or an adaptive all-wheel drive (AWD) system, which automatically detects when traction is needed through all four wheels and constantly optimizes available grip.
