Oprah winners finally receiving their 2012 Volkswagen Beetle

The famous TV Show Oprah surprised its audience last year after announcing that all 275 members of the audience would be getting one of their own 2012 Volkswagen Beetle with taxes and fees paid and the lucky winners are just about to receive their vehicles, but they will have to wait just a little longer, until Thursday, October 13.

The first group to receive the new Volkswagen Beetle would be the 21 winners who reside near the VW dealer in Orland Park, Illinois, but according to the German based automaker, all 275 men and women will get their prizes on the same day.

This wasn’t the only time when Oprah gave away a lot of vehicles to the crowd and during one episode filmed back in 2004, the diva and Pontiac awarded all the 276 members of the audience with the same number of G6s, but the lucky winners didn’t have to wait that long to receive their vehicles, happily discovering that the cars were sitting out in the studio’s parking lot.

As part of a summer promotion, Oprah also gave away one Volkswagen Routan minivan in 2009.
