It appears that Lewis Hamilton has been involved in a recent car accident that took place in Monaco and as a consequence his journey to the Brazilian Grand Prix was delayed a little bit.
Hamilton emerged unharmed and also took the time to tell its Instagram fans that “nobody was hurt”, even though the exotic ride “was obviously damaged” due to a “very light contact with a stationary vehicle.” Because of the incident he chose to stay another day in Monaco to “rest at home” as he was also affected by fever. “Talking with the team and my doctor, we decided together that it was best for me to rest at home and leave a day later,” commented the Formula One champion (titles in 2008, 2014 and 2015, currently racing for Mercedes AMG Petronas). “But I am feeling better and am currently boarding the plane to Brazil. Mistakes happen to us all but what’s important is that we learn from them and grow.”
Numerous reports have emerged following the incident, with German newspaper Bild reporting the crash of the very special Pagani Zonda LH and a low resolution picture – apparently taken right after the accident – appearing online and depicting a supercar, a taxi and several police officers. The local account of the tale involved an onlooker hearing “a car coming down the hill, then heard it lock up under braking and then a Big Bang”, with the Instagram user who uploaded the photo comment saying he “went out and it was” Lewis Hamilton. As far as we can see form the picture, the front left side of the supercar has been damaged with the wheel exposed.
