PARIS 2010 – What is coming? image

After a particularly dramatic year for trade fairs in 2009, the recovery edition of the 2010 Paris Motor Show will be taking place in more auspicious circumstances. Many exhibitors have already registered, including more than 70 car manufacturers. The Paris Motor show will once again be the venue for many world and European previews.

The 2010 Paris Motor Show will take place from 2 October to 17 October 2010, in Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles. For 2010, the theme of the special exhibition is “The Incredible Collection 2: automobile manufacturers collections and museums.”

Aston Martin
The British automaker will come with the latest DB9. The modestly restyled DB9 goes on sale in July with prices starting at the U.S. equivalent of $184,857 for the DB9 Coupe and $198,418 for the DB9 Volante.
The changes include a new front bumper, bright-finish radiator grille and reshaped lower intake featuring bright hexagonal mesh. New headlight bezels, restyled sills, silver brake calipers, 20-spoke diamond-turned alloy wheels and clear rear light lenses round out the changes. [ more about the 2011 DB9 ]


Finally, Audi will present at Paris the new A7 – The five door A7 hatchback model with the rakish roofline will be positioned above Audi A6 but below A8 in a similar way as A5 Sportback slots between Audi A4 and A6. With sporty and aggressive design, the Audi A7 will come with V6 and V8 engines for gasoline and diesel engines. It will be in competition with the Mercedes CLS, Porshe Panamera and Lamborghini Estoque. [more about the Audi A7]


Described by BMW as a ‘Sports Activity Vehicle’, the new X3 will shine at Paris. The original BMW X3’s slightly gawky looks have been replaced by modern BMW visuals that very much give the new X3 the appearance of a junior BMW X5. But it’s the technology under the skin that’s likely to set this car apart in the sector. We may also see at bmw’s stand the mega-city concept and 6 series.[ more about the new BMW X3 ]


Of course, Bugatti will come at Paris with the new Veyron Supersport. The record run, certified by the German government and the Guinness Book of World Records, took place a couple of weeks ago at the Volkswagen Group’s giant Ehra-Lessein proving grounds in Germany. Veyron SuperSport succeded to run with 267.86 miles per hour – a new world record.


French automaker will present for it’s public the next generation C4. (RUMORS SAY that Citroen will come with the five doors VERSION). Also, DS4 will be there.


Ford Europe will come with the facelifted Mondeo – a great looking car if you ask us. Mondeo will get several exterior tweaks, including new grilles, new front bumpers that include LED daytime running lights and redesigned rear lights that also use LED technology. The cabin gets a new flow-through center console design, a revised door treatment featuring flush and integrated door release handles and a new central overhead console with ambient lighting. A new satellite navigation system is also being introduced on the 2011 Mondeo.


Land Rover
This year at Land Rover stand at Paris, visitors will meet the new baby range – the Evoque.
Up until this point the engine options offered by the Range Rover Evoque have not been unveiled yet, however, the manufacturer says it will emit less than 130g/km of CO2. The car will be built at Halewood on Merseyside and will create 1,000 jobs there.


Rumors are circulating that the Proton-owned company will unveil up to five vehicles in Paris including two front-engined GT concepts and three production vehicles, likely the Esprit, a new roadster and a high-performance supercar.


Premium automaker Mercedes Benz will present at Paris this year the facelifted CL Class – and the new CLS. The CL, despite its badging, is an S-Class-sized car – the “C” denotes a coupé model, rather than a C-Class variant. [ more about the new CL ] [ more about the new CLS ]


THE new Opel Astra has arrived and boy was it worth the wait. The Astra competes in one of the most challenging segments in the car market that of the medium sized family hatch and therefore it needs to be more than good.
For the first time the station wagon will be called Sports Tourer.


Another local player, Peugeot will present to the public the new 508, the sedan that will substitute the actual 407. Also, at the Peugeot stand, most probably 308 GTI will be presented.


Science fiction. Powered by an electric motor, DeZir is proof that environmental concern and a love for cars are by no means incompatible.
The DeZir project is the first to have been led by Laurens van den Acker and marks the start of a sequence of concept cars that will provide an insight into Renault Design’s new vision for the future. A 24 kilowatt-hour lithium ion battery pack provides 100 miles (162km) driving range, with a quick drop-out mechanism to exchange a fresh battery if you are really in a rush. Recharging from a household socket takes 8 hours, or fast charge using a 400V supply gives 80% capacity in only 20 minutes.



The little car from Daimler – Smart, will present at the pariesene auto show the facelifted version of Fortwo.
The tridion safety cell is now optionally available in white and the new colours red and blue expand the choice of colours available for the cabrio soft top. Optional LED daytime driving lights and new alloy wheels offer even more opportunities for customisation. Fresh fabrics and colours and a new cockpit design determine the high quality interior ambience of the two-seater car.

smart fortwo

IF at the Geneve auto show Volvo presented the S60, at Paris, Volvo will unveil the V60. Said to include the dynamic driving characteristics of the recently launched S60 saloon – which is also claimed to be coupé-like, the V60 is scheduled to go on sale this autumn.
Four petrol engines and three diesels will be offered initially. The petrol range starts with a pair of new, four-cylinder, 1.6-litre GTDi units with 150bhp (T3) or 180bhp (T4), both with six-speed manual gearboxes. The more powerful of the two will be available with six-speed Geartronic automatic transmission.
