Paris Motor Show LIVE: 2013 Ford Mondeo
The new generation of the Ford Mondeo, in sedan and wagon versions, has been officially presented to the public during the 2012 Paris Motor Show
After making its public debut as the new Fusion over-seas at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year, the new generation of the model has been finally launched in Europe where it’s known as the Mondeo. The North American based automaker Ford has brought the new generation of the Mondeo Sedan and the Mondeo Wagon to the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The new Mondeo is similar in size to the outgoing model, coming at 4.8m long and with a 2.850mm wheelbase.
The 2013 Ford Mondeo will keep further powertrain details a secret for the moment but the 1.6L and the 2.0L TDCi diesel units, along with the 1.0L EcoBoost and the 2.0L EcoBoost are known to make their way into the lineup. The most common transmission to be used on the new Mondeo will be the six-speed manual, but a six-speed dual clutch Powershift will also become available, but as an option. Additional details on the new Ford Mondeo generation will be announced close to the model’s launch in Europe, which has been set for later on this year.
