The new generation of the Renault Espace people carrier has been officially presented to the public during the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
Originally unveiled just a couple of weeks ago, the new Renault Espace generation has finally made its public debut, during the French automotive event. The model in question will be offered in four trim levels, the Life, the Zen, the Intense and the Initiale Paris and the top of the line will be coming with a TFT high-res screen, customizable ambient lighting, digital instruments, one touch folding rear seats and several other interesting tweaks.
“Renault has reinvented the Espace. As the flagship of our range, the new Renault Espace features Renault’s DNA, with sensuous styling, an unprecedented sensation of travelling comfort and ingenious innovations geared to satisfying the desires of drivers and passengers”, said Carlos Ghosn, the Renault CEO and chairman.
A range of three different engines will be offered for this model, starting with the dCi 160 EDC, which is brand new. This is offering 160 HP (118 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. The already familiar dCi 130 will also be offered, with its 130 HP (95 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. The range will end with the TCe 200, generating 200 HP (147 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. The EDC transmission will become available, in 6 or 7 speeds, on the two more powerful units. The Renault Espace will go on sale soon but no pricing details have been announced so far.
