The Citroen DS3 Cabrio has been officially presented to the public for the first time during the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
After it was teased just earlier this month and then eventually revealed in some official images, the Citroen DS3 Cabrio is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the French based automaker bringing it to the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The soft top of the Citroen DS3 Cabrio seems to be inspired by the one used on the 500C by Fiat and, with the roof down, the edges and side windows will remain in their place.
The car manufacturer says that the DS3 Cabrio is only 25 kg heavier than the regular version and the model is also getting the same insulation as the hatchback. Another advantage is that the DS3 Cabrio can pull its roof down and up again at speeds up to 120 km/h, and the action takes 16 seconds. In the cabin, the model is still keeping that glamour style, which made its solid roof brother popular and loved, with the only modification being the button which is operating the roof near the roof lights. The DS3 Cabrio will get the same engines as the hatchback, and the trim levels will also be shared between the two. Additional details on the new DS3 version, the drop top, will be announced later on this year, close to its launch.
