Paris Motor Show LIVE: European Skoda Rapid unveiled

The European version of the Skoda Rapid has been recently unveiled in a premiere on the Old Continent during the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

The Skoda Rapid has been inspired by the MissionL Concept revealed one year ago at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and since then the model has went on sale in Asia. After being caught testing a lot of times and after it has even leaked and then confirmed by the Czech based automaker, the Skoda Rapid has finally arrived in Europe too and the model has been presented at the French automotive event for the first time on the Old Continent.

As a quick reminder, the Skoda Rapid will get a variety of engines under its hood, including the 1.6 liter TDI with 88 HP and 230 Nm of torque or with 103 HP and 250 Nm of torque, the new 1.2 MPI with 74 HP and 112 Nm of torque, the 1.2 TSI turbocharged with 84 HP and 160 Nm of torque or 103 HP and 175 Nm and the 1.4 TSI with 121 HP And 200 Nm. The model is 4,483 mm long, 1,706 mm wide and 1,461 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,602 mm. The Rapid is being produced at the Mlada Boleslav plant and it will slot between the Fabia and the Octavia.
