The near-production version of the Honda Civic Type R has been officially presented to the public, during the French automotive event taking place in Paris, in a world premiere.
While our spy photographers are looking for the new Honda Civic Type R, in its near production version, on the tracks and not only, the model in question is found, these days, at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The future hot hatch is packing an aggressive body kit with large side skirts, muscular wheel arches, spectacular rear wing, big diffuser and so on.
The model in question is looking to steal the “crown” from Renault which is holding the fastest time for a production front-wheel drive car on the Nurburgring, so this should be pretty spectacular by the time it will arrive in dealerships across the globe. Honda is in fact so optimistic that it says that the new Civic Type R will be better than the iconic NSX.
Power to the 2016 Honda Civic Type R will be provided by a 2.0 liter i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol burner, which will be capable of producing more than 280 HP. Some rumors are stating that this might even do as much as 320 HP. The engine will be revving up to 7,000 rpm. The reveal of the production Civic Type R will probably take place at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, next March.
