The Italian luxury brand had no absolute novelty to bring to the 2014 Paris Motor Show, so it decided to display its entire lineup and also the beautiful Alfieri 2+2 concept.
The stunning Alfieri prototype – introduced during the Geneva Motor Show this year – has been confirmed to preview a future production model that would be offered in both coupe and cabrio form. Reports even say the model, based on the GranTurismo MC Stradale could look exactly the same as the concept. Alfieri has a 24 cm shorter wheelbase than the GranTurismo MC Stradale and its design takes cues from historic models such as the 1957 3500 GT and the 1959 5000 GT. The model has a naturally-aspirated V8 4.7-liter soul, churning out 460 bhp (343 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) at 4,750 rpm.
The GranTurismo MC Stradale has been introduced last year and features the same engine as the GranTurismo Sport and Alfieri concept – the 460 hp V8. Performance is as good as it gets, with carbon ceramic brakes and an MC Race Shift six-speed robotized manual gearbox that gets the coupe to a top speed of 188 mph (302 km/h).
The Ghibli and Quattroporte sedans on the other hand have to do all the brand’s heavy lifting, securing the much needed increase in sales and give the parent company much needed higher earnings.
