The German premium automaker has taken the time to officially unveil in front of the public at the 2014 Paris Motor Show the recently updated B-Class lineup.
The compact model has been refreshed with Audi-style passion – so you’ll need to play “spot the differences” to actually notice the 2015 model year form the outgoing version. The front bumper sports a redesigned styling with slightly air ducts and there’s also a tweaked front grille. Chief among the changes is actually the availability of LED High Performance headlamps – they also look different and can’t be ordered together with the Electric Drive model. The taillights also have LED technology and the slightly altered bumper has trapezoidal exhaust tips.
Inside the cabin we have the eight-inch infotainment display and Mercedes added more choices for ambient lighting and an optional keyless entry system. Safety has not been neglected and the Collision Prevention Assist Plus and Attention Assist have wider operating range: 37 – 124 mph (60 – 200 km/h).
Engine wise, the B-Class is only powered by four cylinder units, save for the Electric Drive obviously. Choices start at the B 180 and B 160 CDI (petrol, diesel respectively) and we can climb up to a B 250 with 211 PS & 350 Nm or a B 220 CDI with 177 PS & 350 Nm.
