The Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid has been officially presented to the public during the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
If something like the Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid sound brand new to you, it isn’t, and it isn’t even a premiere as the model in question has been already unveiled a few months back and it can also be bought in several countries across the Old Continent. In Germany, the model has been priced from 108,944 euros, VAT included, and it is said to return 84 mpg on the average European test cycle, which is basically the equivalent of 3 liters of fuel burned every 100 km.
Mercedes-Benz says that the “green” version of the new generation S-Class is emitting just 69 g/km of CO2. The luxurious vehicle has a 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 engine under its hood, which is rated at 329 HP and 354 lb-ft of torque. The internal combustion unit is backed up by an electric motor, generating 107 HP and 251 lb-ft of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes just 5.2 seconds. The Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid has been actually unveiled back in 2013, during the Frankfurt Motor Show, and it is already available for order.
