The French based automaker Peugeot has presented the 2008 Concept and the 208 Type R Rally car to the 2012 Paris Motor Show in a world premiere.
After being announced for production, the Peugeot 2008 breaks cover in a concept form during the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The model gives us a glimpse of what the final production version will look like once it will hit the market in an attempt to battle with models like the Nissan Juke, the Opel Mokka or the Ford EcoSport. The Peugeot 2008 Concept is a crossover based on the 208 hatchback which is coming with a more aggressive design than the five-door hatch. Additional details on the model will be announced once it will hit the production line.
Besides the Peugeot 2008 Concept, the French based automaker has also brought the 208 Type R Rally car to the 2012 Paris Motor Show, keeping its promise. The Peugeot 208 Type R Rally Car is complying with the IRC (Intercontinental Rally Challenge) and it will enter the competition in mid-2013. The model is getting a 280 HP 1.6 liter engine, mated to a five-speed sequential transmission which is sending power to the all-wheel drive. The model weighs 1,200 kg and it’s getting 18-inch alloy wheels. The 208 Type R Rally Car is ideally setup for tarmac use but it will also work on gravel and other surfaces.
