The Spanish brand has opted to show the public attending the 2014 Mondial de l’Automobile their new stylized version of the Leon ST, dubbed the “X-Perience.”
Akin to Audi’s Allroad models, the Leon X-Perience is a rugged version of the station wagon, capable of very “soft” incursions outside the paved roads. The new version makes due with a bump in ride height (+15 mm) and numerous additional plastic body panels designed to protect the car from scratches and dents. For added styling, there are front and rear aluminum underbody protections. The exterior appearance is completed with black anodized roof rails and unique 17- or 18-inch rims.
Inside we can find brown leather and Alcantara upholstery with orange contrast stitching for the pricier versions, while the cheaper entry-levels make due with a fabric finish. There’s also additional special badging.
The Seat Leon X-Perience is equipped with permanent all-wheel drive (fifth-generation Haldex coupling on board) and under the hood we can find a 1.8 TSI that has 180 PS (132 kW) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) of torque. Diesel fans have more than one option: a 1.6 TDI (110 PS) or a 2.0 TDI that has two levels of power – you get either 150 PS (110 kW) & 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) or 184 PS (135 kW) & 380 Nm (280 lb-ft). Transmission choices range from a six-speed manual to the well-known DSG.
