Jaguar has finally pulled the wraps off the all-new F-Type sports car during the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
After starting its life as a concept earlier this year with a lot of camouflage on its body and then with the production version leaked, teased and so on, the Jaguar F-Type is finally here and we can now get a look at it in the official images and video posted below this article. The Jaguar F-Type is the successor of the legendary E-Type and it’s scheduled to arrive in showrooms in the United Kingdom in May 2013 as a convertible and in late 2014 it will be launched as a coupe.
Jaguar says that three versions of the F-Type will be available, the regular F-Type, the F-Type S and the F-Type V8 S, with the first one getting a 3.0 liter V6 engine producing 340 HP (250 kW), the second one getting the same engine but with 380 HP (279 kW) and the latter will feature the newly developed V8 unit, with 495 HP (364 kW) and 625 Nm of torque (461 lb-ft). This version will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds before reaching its electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). CO2 emissions in the V8 stop at 259 g/km.
All engines are mated to an eight-speed Quickshift transmission and the F-Type S is also getting a Dynamic Launch feature. The F-Type S will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 275 km/h (171 mph) while emitting 213 g/km of CO2 while the entry-level F-Type does the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 5.1 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 260 km/h (161 mph). CO2 emissions in this version stop at 209 g/km. Prices for the F-Type will start at 58,500 GBP, while the F-Type S will be available from 67,500 GPB and the F-Type V8 S from 79,950 GBP.
