During the Monterey Car Week – up and about with its priceless classics starting this Friday – there will also be a host of new models – such as a Cadillac concept or a very special Koenigsegg Agera.
This Agera is unlike anything we saw before – the regular Agera was first outed back in 2011 and the One:1 first appeared in 2014. But this 2016 incarnation of the Agera will be a development of the Agera RS, dubbed XS. This is the first unit with full homologation for the United States and also has a range of unique touches both in and out because that’s how the owner requested it. There’s the spectacular orange paint called “Karosserie,” which makes use of a diamond-dust metallic effect to bring out the shade. The finish is also complimented using new aerodynamic tweaks, including “the largest rear wing ever fitted to a Koenigsegg.”
The interior is adorned with black Alcantara, orange contrast stitching, and an exposed carbon fiber center console. While the equipment and amenities are top notch, the weight still remains at an incredible 3,075 pounds – which is a trifle for the 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 packing 1,160 horsepower, which get sent to the wheels via a 7-speed paddle-shift transmission.
