If you’re a fan of high-performance Ford cars as well as classic rides you’re in for a treat. If you have the purse, you could snatch one of the sic cars comprising Jim Click’s $11 million collection.
RM Sotheby’s will deliver at its annual Monterey sale in California a pack of six classic performance Ford cars this August. But these aren’t your bunch of old Escort Cosworths or Ford Mustangs – instead you can drool over a group of extremely rare Cobras, Mustangs and a GT40 as the icing on the cake. By now we’re sure you’re gasping at the photo gallery – after all we also decided to screensave that group shot. These rare commodities of the automotive world belong to a guy named Jim Click. He started vintage racing back in 1991 as a mere hobby, but transformed that into Jim Click Racing, and finally, the Jim Click Performance Collection. What we see above is just a small slice of the handpicked collection of vintage race cars, which by the way were all driven by the gentleman we’re discussing and his very lucky friends.
““It’s time for me to let someone else enjoy the cars like I have,” says Click. “They are fantastic cars – thoroughly prepared to the extent that we’ve never had a safety issue. Whoever ends up owning them, you’re in for a truly exciting ride. I hope you have at least half as much fun with these cars as I have had over these last 25 years.” By the way, if you managed to hold on to your credit card and didn’t order a plan ticket for August to be in California you’re stronger than we are.
