Additional details have been recently released concerning the high performance King Mustang versions, named in honor of Richard Petty.
In case you don’t know what we’re talking about and where the “King” name comes from, we can tell you ignorant brats that Petty (who turns 80 next year in July) has been nicknamed because he won the NASCAR championship seven times. And he’s also a seven-time champion of the Daytona 500 event. So case closed. He now takes pride with his legacy through Petty’s Garage, currently working on the 2017 Ford Mustang GT King Edition. “We couldn’t be more excited to continue our relationship with Ford Motor Company and announce our builds of the 2017 Mustang,” commented Russ Stellfox, chief exec at Petty’s Garage.
We already got a teaser of the model, but now we know a little bit more. There will be two different King Edition packages for the 2017 Ford Mustang GT. One has the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 packing 670 horsepower and will be sold at a suggested retail price of $35,000. The King Premier Edition packs a supercharger and goes for a Hellcat-trumping 825 horsepower. Peety’s Garage also said customers will enjoy a full warranty from Ford with the base package, while the second one will get a 3 years/36,000 miles third party warranty. There’s also the upcoming EcoBoost King that is a new addition to the family and only 500 units will be manufactured and sold throughout select Ford dealers.
