Peugeot 2008 scores 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP image

The new Peugeot 2008 has managed to score a 5-star safety rating after being crash tested in the latest session by Euro NCAP.

The French based automaker’s answer to models like the Nissan Juke, the Renault Captur, the Opel Mokka, the Chevrolet Trax or the Ford EcoSport, amongst others, is named the Peugeot 2008 and this seems to become the vehicle of choice when looking into a B-segment crossover, especially after it managed to score a total of 5 stars after being crash tested by Euro NCAP.

According to the safety specialists from the Old Continent, the Peugeot 2008 has scored 88 percent in Adult Occupant protection, 77 percent in Child Occupant protection, 72 percent in Pedestrian safety and 70 percent in the Safety Assist. The model in question scored 32 points in the Adult Occupant category, where Adequate protection was spotted in a Frontal Impact at the chest and lower part of the legs, along with an Adequate protection in the Side Impact Car, a Marginal protection to the chest in the Side Impact Pole and a Marginal protection to the neck in the Rear Impact.

The in the Child Occupant, the model scored a total of 38 points, which were added to the 26 points scored in the Pedestrian Safety, where the only Poor protection was spotted in several parts of the windshield. In the Safety Assist, the model added another 6 points. The vehicle tested was a Peugeot 2008 1.2 Vti Active, weighing 1,111 kg.
