Peugeot is planning to introduce its brand new B-segment hot hatch, the 208 GTI, to Malaysia, where the model is expected to hit showrooms by the end of the year.
Malaysians will receive a new entry to the B-segment for hot hatches by the end of the year, in the shape of the Peugeot 208 GTI. The model in question is said to arrive in the Asian country in either October of November. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but according to the local automotive media, the 208 GTI should get a starting price of RM128,888.
The brand new Peugeot 208 GTI is only available as a three-door hatchback. The vehicle is powered by a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine, which is producing a total output of 200 HP and it has a peak torque of 275 Nm, available at 1,700 rpm. The 1,160 kg hot hatch is coming with front-wheel drive, with power being sent to the wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint will be done in just 6.8 seconds and top speed will stand at 230 km/h. More details on the Peugeot 208 GTI aimed at Malaysia will be announced over the following months.
