The Peugeot 208 Hybrid FE Concept has recently leaked in two images ahead of its public debut, scheduled for the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, next month.
The brand new Peugeot 208 Hybrid FE Concept will be officially presented to the public on the 10th of September, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The model in question will receive a fiber glass “blade” as a wishbone, spring and anti-roll bar combined and it will be lighter than the base 1.0L VTi version, which stands at 975 kg (2,149 lbs). The model in question will also look different than the standard car, thanks to its rear diffuser, cameras instead of the side mirrors, 19-inch alloy wheels and more.
The electric motor in the Peugeot 208 Hybrid FE Concept will work with a 1.0 liter unit from the base model which now has 1.2L and a more efficient combustion. The model is believed to get racing cylinder head and diamond carbon coating and a fuel tank replaced by a smaller unit with 20 liters. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint should take 8 seconds. Average fuel consumption is expected to stand at just 2.1L / 100km (135 mpg UK / 112.4 mpg US) and the CO2 emissions will remain below 49 g/km. More details on the model will be announced in Frankfurt.
