The upcoming French compact hot hatch, the Peugeot 308 GTI, has been spotted recently, in its homeland, with absolutely no camouflage on its body.
We all know the best way of hiding something is in plain sight, but this is actually taking things to a whole new level for Peugeot which has left a naked version of the new 308 GTI in a parking lot. The model in question has been already confirmed for its debut at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed, just a day ago, so we really didn’t expect to see it like this.
The 2016 Peugeot 308 GTI is coming with an updated front bumper with larger air intakes, with a modified front grille, with tweaked headlights, a lowered suspension system, with 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/55 Michelin performance tires, with Peugeot Sport brakes, two exhaust pipes, a diffuser skirt and several other goodies which will definitely put some distance between it and the standard version of the car. Rumors are saying that the new French hot hatch will be making use of the 1.6 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is capable of producing a total output of 270 HP (198 kW). The new Peugeot 308 GTI will be rivaling models such as the Ford Focus ST, the Volkswagen Golf GTI, the Renaultsport Megane, the Honda Civic Type R and others in the segment. Additional details on it remain unknown at this time and will most likely be announced on the 25th of June, during the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
