The French based automaker Peugeot has confirmed its plans for the introduction of the GTI version of the new 308.
Despite being spied numerous times, the new Peugeot 308 GTI has been denied by the car manufacturer until now, when it has suddenly decided to admit its development. The model in question has been confirmed by Bruno Famin, the Peugeot Sport director, who said that the model is in the works and it will stand above the recently unveiled 308 GT.
Rumors are stating that the upcoming Peugeot 308 GTI will be taking its power form a 1.6 liter THP turbo four-cylinder engine, which will be producing, in the future C-segment hot hatch, no less than 250 HP (184 kW) or even 270 HP (199 kW), more than the 308 GT’s 205 HP (151 kW).
The brand new Peugeot 308 GTI is expected to be officially presented to the public sometimes in 2015, during a major automotive even, possibly the Geneva Motor Show, in March, or the Frankfurt Motor Show, which will be opening its gates in September. More details on the Peugeot 308 GTI are limited for the moment and will probably be announced close to its official unveil.
