Peugeot is getting ready to introduce a 308 GTI hot hatch, based on the new generation of the model, which is rumored to get the same engine as the RCZ R under its hood.
The French based automaker Peugeot will be introducing its brand new version of the award-winning 308, the 308 GTI. The model in question will be a hot hatch which has the tough job of competing with some of the biggest names in the segment, such as the Ford Focus ST, the Renault Megane RS, the Volkswagen Golf GTI or the Opel Corsa OPC, amongst others.
Considering the fact that it was named Car of the Year, the new generation of the Peugeot 308, in its GTI version, has a pretty big chance of turning out to be better than what the competition is offering. According to a recent report published by the guys from Autocar, the hot hatch will be positioned above the 308 GT and it is said to get a 1.6 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under its hood, the same one from the RCZ R sports coupe, which should come in the same output, 266 HP. The model will also get a modified suspension system, sports seats, LED lights, a new body kit and several other tweaks.
