The French based automaker Peugeot has launched another sedan exclusively onto the Chinese auto market, the 308, at the Chengdu Auto Show, because sedan versions of the compact vehicles aren’t so popular in the West.
The 308 sedan is being offered by Peugeot in China with the choice of two petrol engines, the 1.6 liter which is developing 108 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque, and the 2.0 liter with its 150 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque, both of them mated to either a manual or an automatic transmission.
Aesthetically speaking, the 308 sedan is borrowing some design features from the 508 for the front fascia, which can be seen on the way the logo is has been placed on the hood, as well as the shape of the grille and the headlights. The rear end of the 308 sedan seems to be dull and the Peugeot designers proved not to be very inspired when drawing it.
Peugeot is trying to promote its 308 sedan in China through its safety level and luxury, highlighting its features and materials used for the dashboard.
The Peugeot 308 sedan for China has been made, just like other vehicles from the PSA, thanks to a joint-venture partnership with Chang’an Automotive.
